Kaki Lima Night Market Postponed Again

Head of Jakarta Cooperative Small Micro Medium Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department, Joko Kundaryo, revealed that the implementation of Kaki Lima Night Market is postponed from initial schedule this end of  month. The delay is because there are items in this activity that have to be corrected in goods and services auction by Jakarta Service Procurement Unit (ULP).

It is better for the event to be postponed but safe, rather than in a hurry but causing problems

“The  Kaki Lima Night Market cannot be held yet because it is still in auction process. We should improve the TOR (terms of references), which we have completed it today,” he stated, Thursday (4/24).

Nevertheless, Jakarta KUMKMP Department has re-verified the street vendors who are to participate in this event. As planned, there would be 400 vendors selling clothes, foods, and accessories. The total budget allocated for this event is Rp 11.2 billion, which will be used for 52 times of  Kaki Lima Night Market implementation, where each implementation costs Rp 80 million.

Kaki Lima Night Market to Be Held Again in April

Kundaryo cannot confirm yet when will  Kaki Lima Night Market is held again. And since its implementation is postponed, he makes sure there will be budget surplus (Silpa).

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Goods and Services ULP, I Dewa Gede Soni, acknowledged Kundaryo’s statement and informed that Jakarta KUMKMP Department is currently completing the documents needed. According to him, the event of  Kaki Lima Night Market is listed in priority activities.

“Hopefully the auction would go smooth. It is better for the event to be postponed but safe, rather than in a hurry but causing problems,” he asserted.
